What is the difference between beginner, intermediate, and advanced?
Beginner - These classes use and build on some Rope 101 skills, such as a single column, forward/reverse tensions, and basic frictions (munter, x friction, etc).
Intermediate - These classes are a mix of ground rope and suspension. For ground rope, these classes expect you to be familiar with Rope 101 skills, and have some experience with rope handling and tension management. In intermediate suspension classes, these classes may expect you to know uplines, and may expect you to know basics of static suspensions. Bottoms in intermediate classes should be able to communicate how things feel, and have some body awareness skills in relation to nerves/circulation, stamina, etc.
Advanced - These classes are suspension focused, for people who are experienced with upline management of multiple uplines, dynamic suspensions, and suspension transition sequences. Bottoms in advanced classes should be well versed in rope communication, active bottoming, and have strong body awareness in rope.
❋ Taught by Tensegrity (They/He) and RopeSpringsEternal (He/They)
Class Level: Advanced.
Partner tie.
Suspension Focused.
This class will introduce concepts of aerial arts and partner acrobatics as elements of rough body play in rope suspension. Learn how to perform lifts and drops with partner acrobatic techniques and how to climb on and hang from your suspended partner. This play can have both an athletic appeal AND a sadomasochistic appeal and also lends to stunning art and performance possibilities. Students will learn additional safety points and skills to play responsibly as well as special considerations unique to this particular type of play. Ten provides valuable insights from years in partner acrobatics and 16 years as a professional bodyworker. Class will include demonstration and hands-on practice time.
Prerequisites: Bottoms and tops should be very experienced in suspension.
Bottoms need the ability to navigate and communicate their sustainability in the air especially through challenging moments. They should also be experienced with 'active bottoming' such as muscle engagement and should understand their own risk tolerance with the ability to confidently communicate and uphold safety boundaries. Tops should have experience in receiving and responding to live feedback from the people they tie, especially during stressful situations, and be able to adapt accordingly.
*Synthetic uplines are required for this class.

Y is such a boring letter. Anyone know how to tie a Q hanger? Colored by a background in molecular biology, join Colin for a presentation on the phylogeny of atypical uplines, their origins, and various use cases. Following the lecture, there will be some upline drills and then participants will be invited to tie a partial or total suspension of their choosing (partnered, self-tied, or with an inanimate object) to practice new techniques on familiar shapes with instructor feedback. Please come ready to share any of your own naturally selected uplines!
Prerequisites: Excellent understanding of traditional uplines and upline management, strong body awareness for everyone involved
❋ Taught by Brooklyn (They/Them) and Hatman Jack (He/Him)
Class Level: Beginner.
Partner tie and self tie.

Ready to get unbuttoned? This class explores how to use clothing alongside rope to play with themes of objectification, exposure, fetishization, power, and plain ol’ hotness. You’ll learn how to play with clothes to enhance your rope scenes, contributing to both the aesthetics and the mood, rather than getting in the way.
Taught by Brooklyn and Hatman Jack, this class draws from their lived experiences as rope partners navigating dynamics of beauty, control, and desire. We’ll share what makes objectification hot for us, and invite you to explore what it means for you and your partner. This is a class explicitly focused on play strategies, so please attend with a partner you’re comfortable exploring emotional and physical play with.
Prerequisites: Single column tie. Students should attend class with a tying partner they feel comfortable engaging in emotionally and/or physically intimate play with.
❋ Taught by Phoenix (She/Her) and Firebird Queen (She/Her)
Class Level: Beginner.
Partner tie.
Ground Rope.
This class will open with how to discern what the bottom is looking for by discussing ways to help them discover what they truly want from their time in rope. In this class we will discuss ways to communicate through touch and rope handling, which includes elements of maintaining rope tension, moving rope around the body, and how to maintain continuity. Phoenix will teach how to check on the bottom while allowing them to stay in the moment, and how to help the model find Rope Space and bring them out safely and gently.
Prerequisites: None
❋ Taught by GoddexxMarzanna (They/Any)
Class Level: Intermediate.
Partner tie and self tie.
Suspension Focused.
In this class, Mari will discuss their process of building a rope performance and how they use rope for story-telling. Together, the class will come up with an entirely new performance from first concepts to creating a sequence to final product including props, costumes, and music. Mari will be self-tying, but partner tying is welcome.
Prerequisites: Understanding of suspensions.
❋ Taught by Razzberry (She/They) and ChihuahuaBights (They/Them)
Class Level: Advanced.
Partner tie.
Suspension Focused.
Practitioners will learn a suspension sequence that ChihuahuaBights and Razzberry developed and performed in Durham, NC. This sequence is built around the booty basket (mono-bloc) harness and provides a challenging series of transitions and shapes, inversions and torsions, but also leaves room for exploration of different movements. Tips and tricks will be shared to tie and suspend this effectively and efficiently.
Prerequisites: Single column and double column tie, booty basket (mono-bloc) harness, and a suspendable front and back loadable upper body harness (butterfly, woven heart, takate kote, etc), and tops must be very comfortable with managing multiple uplines and suspensions in general. Optional skills would be to be able to tie a shin-lacing (calf-binder) harness. Bottom must be comfortable with the harnesses required above, being inverted in suspension, communicate under stress, and have strong body awareness.
❋ Taught by SuzieDontPlay (She/Her)
Class Level: Beginner.
Partner tie and self tie.
Ground Rope.
In this class, the focus is not so much the ties themselves but incorporating the bottom into nature by following the movement and shapes of nature and the things we are tying into and becoming part of the landscape.
Prerequisites: Rope 101 skills (single column, basic frictions)
❋ Taught by TheRealAndrew (He/Him) and Dani184 (She/Her)
Class Level: Beginner/Intermediate.
Partner tie.
Ground rope, Suspension Optional
Explore the versatility of the Tengu shape and learn how to build, refine, and adapt this classic shape to bodies of varying flexibility for both floor work and aerial suspensions. Designed for intermediate-level practitioners, this class focuses on tying methods, structural considerations, and shape management while emphasizing comfort, safety, and aesthetics. Participants using this for aerial work should be comfortable with suspension fundamentals and working knowledge of common upper-body harness and upline techniques.
Prerequisites: Intermediate-level rope handling and tension management, nerve mapping, ability to inspect/evaluate a secure chest harness, and previous experience tying chest harnesses.
❋ Taught by SteelRingMaybe (She/They) and Meatbrawl (They/Them)
Class Level: Advanced.
Partner tie.
Suspension Focused.
This is a tenshi suspension sequence that Steel and Meat use often for live performances and ambient tying. This sequence requires a base of a hip harness or loader of your choice, and the Tenshi as taught by Tifereth on Shibari Study. This sequence is flippy-dippy, and has several beautiful moments for dramatic shapes -- including an upside-down lotus position. This sequence was intended to be used on a single point, but there is no reason why it could not be attempted on bamboo.
Prerequisites: Experience with suspension and transitions within suspension. Ability to tie any hip harness from memory.
❋ Taught by Perfect Stranger (He/Him) and Mercury (She/Her)
Class Level: Beginner/Intermediate.
Partner tie.
Ground rope focused, Suspension optional.
In this class, Stranger will teach about one of his favorite topics: Predicament bondage! Predicaments fundamentally put the bottom in charge of their own suffering and can be a very fun sadomasochistic experience! This class will begin with a discussion about designing predicaments including their essential components. The class will continue and demonstrate a few ground-based predicaments. If time allows, suspension ideas will be shared and demonstrated. No suspension experience required! This is a beginner-intermediate class. As such, it is expected that participants can tie a non-collapsing single column and double column tie. Anyone can audit the class, but we will not stop to instruct on basic topics.
Prerequisites: Single column and double column tie.
❋ Taught by Katrisa (She/Her) and Malasana (She/Her)

In this hands on workshop we will review some structural and aesthetic considerations when building a standing web between “hard points” (as opposed to a web directly on an object or body). We will then work together to collaboratively build our own web.
- Those comfortable doing so can test the web’s structure by climbing in it.
- Those with suspension experience can tie themselves or an experienced partner into the web.
Prerequisites: To suspend from the web both the top and bottom should have suspension experience and be very confident in their upline management.
❋ Taught by Master R (He/Him) and Pup Jaxx (He/Him)
Class Level: Beginner.
