Hatman_Jack fell in love with rope as a means of emotional connection, vulnerability, exposure, pain, and rediscovering oneself. After years of flirtation with bondage, he began regularly suspension-bottoming in 2020, and shortly after that, he began self-tying and tying others. When connecting with someone for rope, he strives to prioritize the person and build connection and resilience through consent and communication. In the air, inversions, futos, and a little bit of pain help him turn off his overactive mind, exist in his body, and be in the moment. As a top, he is both daunted and fascinated by creating emotional vulnerability and sensual connection. He has demo-bottomed for classes at Ropecraft, Tying Masc Bodies, Tethered Together, and Dark Odyssey Summer Camp, co-taught intensives at various studios on the east coast and in the midwest, participated in rope-bottoming roundtables in Durham, performed at Kakumei Kan Studio in Finland, DO Summer Camp and Shibari Studio in Dallas, and has taught beginner rope through Kink Practice in North Carolina. When not doing rope, he loves exploring nature, growing too many plants, playing board games and ttrpgs, learning languages, cooking elaborate meals, and practicing circus aerial and ground arts.
