One of the explicit goals of Tied Down South is to crosslink different rope communities. The conference is a joint venture between Tethered Men and Alt Rope (you can read about the hosting organizations here), and wouldn't be possible nor as wonderful without instructors willing to travel from far and wide to teach and share with us! We want to give credit to the rope communities these folks attend, support, and have built.
We asked our instructors to write us a little blurb about their home rope scene and spaces they recommend. Whether you're traveling for work, making a dedicated trip, or looking for something to do while you're passing through, please check out these other rope spaces in the US!

Raleigh, North Carolina - Arachnosomnia & Luna_00
Luna and Arachnosomnia, along with a handful of other ropey people, have been working on rebooting the Rope Bite Raleigh / Durham group on Fet. We have been trying to focus on planning events in Raleigh to start. Since we don't have a venue yet we've just had a few socials so far. More events are in the planning stages so join the group or follow @RopeBiteRaleigh to stay up to date!
Cameron, North Carolina - Prfect-Stranger & Mercury
Hosted at the conference venue, Wingnut Stables, Stranger is the the lead facilitator for Tied Together (TiedtogetherNC on FetLife, @tiedtogethernc on Instagram)! Tied Together is an inclusive rope space with the goal of creating a place for learning and experimentation in rope bondage. It is a gathering where people who are just beginning to refine their craft can find riggers with more experience for help and advice. Our vision is to have a fun and friendly rope jam with a learning component. We strive to create an environment for skill sharing, direct instruction, and play. Greensboro, North Carolina - PHOENIXIAM & FireBird_Queen
Locally, we do Rope Demos at a Monthly Kinky Craft Fair in Greensboro. We attend and tie at most of the NCCroft Parties. We host Rope Evenings and Rope Classes in our Private RopeSpace. Last year We hosted a number of High Fashion Rope events called Kink and Kocktails.

Brooklyn, New York - Master R and Pup Jaxx
Taut & Bound, hosted at Temple in Brooklyn, NY was founded on the belief that tying masc-presenting bodies deserves dedicated time, space, and education. Created by Master R. and ToolBoi, Rope bondage instruction commonly centers petite or feminine shapes, leaving essential gaps in representation and technique for bodies that fall outside these forms. We aim to fill part of this gap through rigorous, skill-focused education for male-identified and/or masc-presenting, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals.
Southwest Oklahoma & North Texas- SuzieDontPlay
SuzieDontPlay is the HeadMistress, founder and owner of KUP-OK/TX, a local kink group founded in Comanche County Oklahoma in 2019 where there are no formal public playspaces, dungeons or clubs. A kinky collective of humans now share their skills, private play spaces and amenities in a network spanning between SW Oklahoma and North Texas. We are an all inclusive group between LS and Kink, ENM, Swingers, Kinksters of all sorts, BDSM, Rope, M/s, D/s and any alternative lifestyle on the spectrum all are welcome.
Louisville, Kentucky - Steelringmaybe & Meatbrawl
We run Tie Louisville, a casual rope group in Louisville KY. Twice a month we host an all-levels rope jam at a music venue and art gallery space called PORTAL. You can find out when jams are happening by following @/tielouisville on Instagram.
Denver, Colorado - Tensegrity
I run Denver Tiny Rope Space (IG- DenverTinyRopeSpace) and also recommend TART (Trans Affinity Rope and Tea) for the Denver rope scene. For visitors looking to explore the city, the RiNo arts district is super vibrant, and for a hike head up to Golden Gate State Park for all the same gorgeous nature without the crowds!
